Job summary

U.S. Department of the Interior's Golden Gate National Recreation Area in San Francisco seeks an education and interpretive specialist to design and deliver educational programs for visitors. You will support learning objectives, safety, and compliance while guiding seasonal staff and volunteers.

The role involves creating training, materials, and experiences that connect people with park resources, executing curriculum-based activities, and presenting programs to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Presents formal structured programs (e.g., walks, talks, tours, events, and presentations).
• Identifies training needs and provides constructive feedback; coaches others on how to perform tasks; and acts as a mentor.
• Develops and formally presents training sessions on interpretive/educational topics for employees who work with the public.
• Develops improve interpretation materials (e.g., signs, waysides, publications, exhibits, and audio content).
• Responds to visitor's inquiries for information, direction, and/or guidance.
• Provides curriculum-based education programs.
