Job summary

The National Park Service seeks a Park Ranger (Interpretation) to create engaging interpretive content and programs for diverse visitors in a Ventura-area park. This position supports outreach, visitor education, and the park's mission through informative experiences.

This is a temporary promotion/detail not to exceed 1 year, with potential extension up to five years and possible permanency without further competition. Open: Sept 15, 2026; Closes: Sept 22, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Plans, designs, develops, and improves interpretive materials and programs to diverse audiences.
• Greet visitors in visitor centers and at outreach events, providing orientation and informal interpretation.
• Coordinate partnerships and outreach with educators, community groups, Tribes, and local organizations.
• Supervise and mentor interpretive staff and volunteers when applicable.
