Job summary

The City of Olathe is seeking a Park Maintenance Worker II to keep our parks clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing. The role covers routine maintenance, landscaping, and ensuring a positive visitor experience across multiple park sites.

This on-call position may require overtime and occasional weekend work. A valid driver's license and at least one year of parks/grounds maintenance experience are required, with a high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of parks or grounds maintenance experience is required.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• A valid driver's license with a favorable driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Mow and maintain parks and public grounds, operate equipment, repair park assets, and assist with basic construction across Olathe parks system.
• Operate riding mowers, trucks with trailers, snow removal equipment, hand tools, and other equipment.
• Perform manual labor including lifting up to 50 pounds and planting flowers/shrubs.
• Participate in weekly park grounds cleanup and building maintenance.
