Job summary

Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) is seeking a Utility Laborer to perform a variety of ground maintenance tasks and projects to keep parks clean, safe, and welcoming. Duties include lawn care, field maintenance, litter collection, and use of hand and power tools.

Minimum six months of general labor experience and ability to work outdoors in all weather are required. The full salary is $34.32 per hour, with benefits and opportunities to lead team members as needed.

Qualifications

• Six months of general labor/manual work experience required.
• Good physical condition.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain public outdoor facilities such as parks, courts, play areas and pools.
• Mow, edge, and trim lawns with mowers, edgers and trimmers.
• Maintain athletic fields and seasonal rehab of field surfaces.
• Collect litter and garbage; perform hard surface maintenance.
• May lead Regular or Temporary Laborers and work as part of a team.
