Job summary

Virginia State Parks in Machicomoco State Park is hiring a Trades Technician I. The role primarily maintains restrooms, facilities, grounds, and trails, and assists with special projects.

You will operate hand and power tools, perform routine cleaning, stock supplies, and interact with park visitors in a professional manner. Candidates should have driver’s license, experience with tools, and comfort working outdoors in all weather, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience using basic hand and power tools.
• Experience cleaning and maintaining restrooms and facilities.
• Ability to operate landscape or grounds-maintenance equipment.
• Ability to follow established procedures and work with staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of restrooms, facilities, grounds, and trails, including stocking supplies and trash collection.
• Operate a variety of hand and cleaning tools, and power tools and equipment such as weed eaters, pressure washers, blowers, saws, drills, and lawn mowers.
• Conduct basic troubleshooting on tools and equipment and interact with the public professionally.
