Job summary

Knox County Parks and Recreation is seeking a Groundskeeper II to maintain park facilities, landscapes and grounds. The role requires operating a range of light equipment and performing general maintenance tasks, with a flexible schedule including weekends.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED (associates preferred) and at least three years of related experience, plus a valid Tennessee driver license. Drug screening is required as part of the process.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Associates degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years’ related experience in building and grounds maintenance and operation of heavy motor equipment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid TN driver license.
• Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered for employment.
• Applicants who are offered this job MUST take a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Flexible work hours including days, evenings and weekends.
• Assist in maintenance, management and supervision of park facilities.
• Perform general facility maintenance, landscaping, trimming and mowing.
• Operate a variety of light equipment and work under supervision.
• Must be physically able to operate tractors, mowers, trimmers, chainsaws and other tools.
