Job summary

The Park District of Oak Park is seeking a part-time Parks Maintenance Worker to keep parks, buildings and equipment clean, safe, and attractive for all visitors. You will operate district vehicles, assist with events, and enforce rules with a focus on excellent customer service.

You must be at least 18, have a high school diploma or GED, and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test. A valid driver’s license and steel-toed shoes are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent; some college preferred.
• Preventative maintenance and/or grounds experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Pre-employment drug test required; random drug test policy.
• Must purchase and wear steel-toed shoes.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications within 1 month of employment.

Responsibilities

• Clean parks of debris and trash.
• Paint indoor and outdoor facilities.
• Dig and maintain garden sites.
• Prepare fields for soccer, baseball and other outdoor sports.
• Load and unload equipment for daily use.
