Job summary

The Park District of Oak Park is seeking a part-time Custodian for Parks & Planning. This role offers $15.00 per hour, 20 hours per week, with shifts from 5:30am-11:30pm or 4:00pm-10:00pm.

Duties include cleaning, upkeep and providing directions to patrons, ensuring a safe and inviting environment across district facilities. Eligibility requires at least 18 years of age, a high school diploma or GED preferred, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Previous work experience preferred.
• Must be able to solve problems as they arise and work without supervision.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and exercise judgment.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties including vacuuming, mopping, window cleaning, sweeping, trash removal and dusting.
• Maintain clean and safe areas across facilities including bathrooms, offices, stairways and common spaces.
• Enforce facility rules and provide helpful customer service to staff, patrons and participants.
• Communicate maintenance needs to supervisor and follow up on status.
• Report hazards, accidents or incidents with proper documentation.
• Assist with emergency procedures and building evacuation when required.
