Job summary

Virginia State Parks is seeking a Trades Tech Supervisor at Kiptopeke State Park to maintain, improve and protect park facilities, grounds, systems and equipment. The role involves supervising wage staff and providing safe, clean, well-maintained facilities and guest information.

Responsibilities include leading maintenance projects across carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting and more, with focus on safety and guest satisfaction. Requires valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge on the use and care of common hand tools and cleaning supplies.
• Experience organizing and performing cleaning and maintenance functions.
• Experience following direction and taking initiative.
• Experience with operating tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, improve and protect park facilities, grounds, systems, resources, vehicles and equipment.
• Supervise wage employees, volunteers and alternative labor in maintenance operations.
• Provide user safety and information to guests and assist with guest services.
• Lead and train new staff members; ensure safety and quality of work.
