The Office of State Parks (OSP) maintains and operates state park facilities and grounds, including Fairview-Riverside State Park in Madisonville, LA. The role focuses on repairs to buildings, equipment, and grounds, ensuring guest and staff safety, and supporting custodial duties and trail maintenance.

Location is Fairview-Riverside State Park, with a rotating 40-hour work week, holidays and weekends as needed.

Competenze

• One year of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance.
• Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

Mansioni

• Makes general repairs to buildings, interiors, exteriors, furniture, fixtures, air conditioners, heating systems, and other mechanical and related fields such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and painting tasks.
• Maintains and makes general repairs to a variety of motorized equipment including tune-ups, replacement and adjustment of worn or damaged parts, and assembly of major components to determine the extent of damage and repairs necessary.
• Operates and checks for safety and maintenance of a wide variety of hand held equipment, motorized vehicles, tractors, etc.
• Repairs and treats structures such as floors, showers, sinks, walls, roofs, carpets, etc.
• Performs minor troubleshooting, repairs, and adjustments of locks on doors, cabinets, desks, closets, etc.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance to ensure machines run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings is maintained.
• Operates large equipment to include but not limited to vehicles, utility vehicles, all-terrain vehicles, front end mowers, skid steers, chippers, tractors, etc.
• Assist with custodial duties to maintain clean and sanitary conditions in the facilities.
• Maintain grounds and trails to include trimming trees, clearing dead trees or branches, welding, fertilizing, road maintenance, etc.
