Job summary

County of Lancaster requires a dedicated facilities custodian to perform general janitorial and maintenance tasks on County properties, ensuring a clean and safe environment for park visitors and staff.

The role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and involves cleaning restrooms, offices and public spaces, managing supplies, and operating equipment including trucks and snow management tools. PA driver’s license and drug screening are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous janitorial/custodial or maintenance experience preferred.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Must have and maintain a valid PA Driver's License with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Clean facilities including public and employee restrooms, pavilions, offices and pool.
• Understand daily facility schedule and prioritize customer needs.
• Assist in loading and hauling trash and recyclables.
• Monitor stock of cleaning supplies and assist with inventory.
• Safely operate a pickup truck with or without a snowplow and salt spreader.
• Follow County and Departmental policies and procedures.
