Job summary

City of Sacramento is seeking part-time Crew Leaders to supervise and guide youths in the Landscape & Learning program. You will lead activities, manage tools, coordinate records, and ensure a safe work environment in City parks.

Responsibilities include organizing on-the-job training, assisting with maintenance tasks, graffiti abatement, and ensuring proper use of equipment. This is a part-time, non-career position supporting youth development.

Qualifications

• Six months of full-time experience in a lead or supervisory capacity.
• Substitution: college-level courses may substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Completion of fifteen semester units is equivalent to six months of experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead recreation and youth development program activities.
• Lead, train, and instruct the work of a crew of Youth Aides.
• Serve as an example and role model to Youth Aides.
• Supervise manual labor projects using landscaping tools and graffiti abatement equipment.
• Operate a motor vehicle safely to transport Youth Aides to work sites.
• Inspect equipment and ensure proper care and use.
• Compile basic written records related to assigned programs or facility.
