Job summary

Tulsa County is seeking a skilled construction worker to handle building and repair of park facilities across county locations. The role involves reading blueprints, using hand tools and power equipment, and performing a variety of construction tasks with safety as a priority.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, trade school experience, and at least three years in construction/maintenance, plus a valid Oklahoma CDL with Air Brake endorsement.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a standard four year high school, one to three years trade school or Vo-Tech and three years of satisfactory, full time paid employment in general construction and maintenance work or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Valid Oklahoma Commercial Class A Driver’s License (CDL) with Air Brake Endorsement

Responsibilities

• Build and repair park facilities including picnic tables, shelters, trails, walks, backstops, fencing, light bridges, etc.
• Perform diversified construction duties.
• Plan and work on projects at different locations; read blueprints and drawings.
• Request materials and work with the crew to ensure timely completion.
• Perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time.
