Job summary

The City of Milton is seeking a Part-time Athletic Assistant to supervise park activities, promote safety, and ensure a positive experience for all participants and visitors.

You will work with Parks & Recreation staff, open/close facilities, monitor events, and coordinate with maintenance to resolve field and facility issues. Evening and weekend availability is required, with CPR/First Aid preferred.

Qualifications

• Sixteen (16) years of age; Interest in youth athletics and recreation programming; education leading to a Bachelor's Degree in Parks/Recreation, Public Administration, Sports Management or a related field preferred.
• An equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Supervise athletic events to ensure safety and smooth operations.
• Patrol park facilities and enforce park rules.
• Open and lock buildings as needed.
• Coordinate with maintenance staff on field and facility issues.
• Assist with transitions between games/events according to the daily schedule.
• Check trash receptacles and restrooms and pick up loose trash as needed.
• Be available to work evenings and weekend hours.
• Monitor weather events and enforce safety protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Assists Parks & Recreation staff as needed to carry out daily operations.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Parks/Recreation, Public Administration, Sports Management or related field
