Job summary

City of Norwalk seeks a goodwill ambassador for park operations at city parks, including the city's designated parking system. You will monitor and enforce Park rules, handle incidents, and report to the Supervisor, with a presence at the park entrance.

You will explain park operations and parking procedures to visitors, assist with inquiries, and act as liaison between the City and park visitors. Proficiency with ParkMobile on iPhone/Android is required; Spanish language is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• Proficient in ParkMobile app on smartphones and able to explain its use to visitors on iPhone and Android devices.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Job description

Works under the direction of the Recreation and Parks Supervisor, or their designee. Maintains a presence at the park entrance. Performs as a liaison between the City and visitors at assigned City Park. Explains Park operations and parking procedures to visitors. Assists visitors by answering inquiries and addressing their concerns. Performs other related tasks as assigned by Supervisor.

Must be proficient in application (App) based programs (ParkMobile) on Smartphone devices and be able to explain their use to Park visitors on iPhone and Android devices. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Requirements: Must be at least 17 years of age or older.

Pay: Starting at $17.00 per hour.

This is a seasonal position, approximately running from May to September.

Must be available to work at least Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 430 pm to 930pm.
