Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking a PSR Support Worker to provide a visible, safety-focused presence during Parish School of Religion sessions on the parish campus.

You will monitor entrances, guide student movement, report safety concerns, and support staff while upholding the parish mission and child-protection policies.

This role emphasizes a calm, professional demeanor, respect for all children, and collaboration with parish leadership to ensure a secure learning environment.

Qualifications

• Provide a calm, positive, and reassuring presence for students.
• Assist PSR staff with student supervision when requested.
• Help maintain orderly movement in common areas.
• Address minor student concerns in a respectful and age-appropriate manner.
• Refer significant behavioral, medical, safety, or safeguarding concerns to staff.
• Maintain professional boundaries with all children and youth.
• Follow parish and diocesan child-protection policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and approachable presence on the parish campus during PSR sessions.
• Monitor common areas, entrances, hallways, parking areas for safety concerns.
• Ensure students stay in designated areas and follow safety procedures.
• Monitor campus access and report unfamiliar or concerning activity to parish staff.
• Assist with secure entrances and building-access procedures.
• Be attentive to hazards or unsafe conditions affecting students or staff.
• Respond to safety concerns and notify parish leadership or emergency services when needed.
• Assist with emergency procedures, drills, evacuations, or lockdowns as trained.
• Support safe arrival, dismissal, and movement of students on campus.
