Job summary

Diocese of Venice, Inc. is seeking a Parish Business Manager to oversee the parish's financial operations and staff administration. You will manage budgets, cash flow, and accounting records while coordinating with the Diocese on insurance and HR matters.

The role requires a degree in accounting or business administration and 3–5 years of relevant experience, with proficiency in QuickBooks/Sage and payroll systems, plus strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• AA or bachelor’s degree in accounting or business Administration, required.
• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position.
• Ability to manage indirect and direct reports through strong leadership skills.
• In-depth knowledge of QuickBooks and/or Sage.
• Experience with an automated payroll/timekeeping system.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Must pass standardized testing by DOV.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accuracy of all financial files and establishes cash flow management system.
• Prepares, administers, and reviews budget process for Parish with Finance Council approval.
• Analyzes financial decisions and advises the Parish.
• Acts as liaison between parish and diocese in financial matters and HR.
• Coordinates and reviews parish organizations and ministry funds.
• Oversees bookkeeping services including A/R, A/P, GL, Collections, and Timekeeping.
• Provides professional support to parish staff and manages parish records.
• Coordinates parish liability and property insurance, workers' compensation within Diocese program.
• Consults with and advises Pastor on business/administrative matters.
