Job summary

The Basilica Shrine of St. Mary in Wilmington, NC, seeks a Director of Finance and Administration to serve as a senior leader supporting the Pastor in managing the parish's financial, administrative, and operational resources for the parish and school.

The role begins with financial stewardship, accounting, and day-to-day bookkeeping, then expands to broader parish administration, including HR and facilities oversight, with emphasis on internal controls, budgeting, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Minimum five years progressive accounting and business management experience.
• Experience in nonprofit or parish setting preferred.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating with boards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure GAAP compliance and manage AP/AR, payroll journals.
• Oversee cash management, reconciliations, and banking.
• Lead budgeting, reporting, and communication to Pastor and Finance Council.
• Support fundraising and capital projects as needed.
• Administer HR basics and supervise key staff.
