Job summary

Archdiocese of Chicago in Westchester, IL seeks an Operations Director for Mary Mother of Divine Grace parish and school to lead financial and operational performance. This role partners with the Pastor and Principal, overseeing budgets, HR, facilities, and IT while ensuring compliance with Archdiocesan policies.

The OD will drive strategic initiatives, manage staff, and coordinate with parish leaders to support mission-driven goals and not-for-profit governance.

Qualifications

• Must be Catholic and demonstrate understanding, respect and support of Catholic Church teaching, mission and values.
• Experience in Accounting, Finance, or related business practices.
• Able to identify opportunities for improvement, evaluate issues and propose solutions.
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience in Human Resources practices, including people leadership, interviewing and policy application.
• Be entrusted with highly confidential information.
• Bachelor degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, evaluate, and communicate parish budgets, annual reports, P&L, balance sheet, AR, AP, and GL.
• Develop monthly variance reports and reforecasts with Pastor/Principal.
• Ensure internal controls are in place and followed.
• Represent parish to banks, manage accounts, resolve discrepancies.
• Possibly perform bookkeeping duties (payables/receivables, church and school revenue/expenses).
• Oversee purchasing, contract negotiations and vendor relationships.
• Coordinate with Parish Finance Council and School Board; support capital campaigns and stewardship.
• Ensure taxes are paid in compliance with regulations.
