Job summary

The Archdiocese of San Antonio seeks a Faith Formation/OCIA Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and oversee the OCIA process and parish faith formation programs. The role partners with the pastor, staff, catechists, sponsors, and parishioners to foster lifelong discipleship and active Church life.

Responsibilities include organizing inquiry sessions, developing curricula for Confirmation I & II, managing records, and coordinating with the Office of Vocations for vocations awareness activities.

Qualifications

• Catholic in good standing and supportive of church mission.
• Bachelor's degree in theology, religious education, pastoral ministry, or related field preferred.
• Experience in adult faith formation, catechesis, parish ministry, or OCIA leadership preferred.
• Knowledge of Catholic doctrine, Scripture, liturgy, and OCIA guidelines.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee the parish's OCIA process in accordance with OCIA and Archdiocese guidelines.
• Coordinate inquiry sessions, catechetical formation, retreats, rites, and mystagogy.
• Develop the annual OCIA calendar in collaboration with parish staff.
• Ensure liturgical rites are celebrated according to norms.
• Create the annual curriculum and syllabus for Confirmation I and II sessions.
• Plan and implement the annual Confirmation Retreat and formation activities for candidates.
• Track registrations, Baptismal Certificates, sponsor forms, saint forms, and service hours.
