Job summary

Archdiocese of San Antonio invites a full-time Catechetical Education Coordinator to collaborate with the DRE, Pastor, and Parish Council in delivering faith formation across multiple age groups. Responsibilities include program development, staff evaluation, volunteer recruitment, and resource management.

The role requires a theology/religious education degree and ACM Master Catechetist certification (or willingness to obtain).

Qualifications

An undergraduate or graduate degree in theology or religious education/teaching.
Certification as a Master Catechist through the ACM Program or willingness to obtain.
Archdiocesan catechist certification through the Catechetical Ministries Program or a university certificate in catechetical leadership or willingness to attend.

Responsibilities

Implement a portion of the parish religious education program in line with the parish mission and goals.
Evaluate staff and programs for effectiveness.
Establish long-range plans (3–5 years) for catechetical programs.
Recruit volunteers and oversee volunteer training and participation.
Prepare budgets and handle financial matters for programs.
Acquire, organize and provide resources (media, supplies, etc.).
Maintain current sacrament records for parish files.
Perform additional services as requested by pastor.
