Job summary

The Archdiocese of Chicago is seeking a Facilities Technician to support St. Gregory of Nyssa Parish in Schaumburg, IL. The role covers custodial services, routine maintenance, minor repairs, and event setup to keep parish facilities safe and welcoming.

Under the Facilities Supervisor, you will assist with liturgies, weddings, funerals, and safety, with responsibilities including building inspections, grounds care, and responding to facility needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3 years of maintenance, custodial, facilities, building operations, or related experience preferred.
• Experience in a church, school, or multi-use facility is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Open and secure parish buildings as scheduled.
• Prepare spaces for Masses, weddings, funerals, and other liturgies.
• Set up rooms and equipment for parish activities and events.
• Inspect public areas for safety and cleanliness; respond to needs.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs within scope.
