Job summary

St. Lawrence Catholic Church and School in Tampa seeks a Facilities Coordinator to oversee the care, safety, and upkeep of its buildings and grounds.

You will supervise maintenance and custodial staff and coordinate repair projects. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will manage vendor contracts, review bids, maintain insurance and safety documentation, and ensure compliance with diocesan policies and parish risk management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• 3–5 years of facilities or building maintenance experience; supervisory experience required.
• Ability to supervise maintenance and custodial personnel.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry.
• Familiarity with work contracts, purchasing guidelines, and vendor management.
• Awareness of liability exposure and risk management practices for parish campuses.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills; able to work independently.
• On-call availability for emergencies; Safe Environment training and background screening.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, and evaluate maintenance and custodial personnel.
• Assign daily tasks and oversee completion of projects.
• Provide training and performance feedback.
• Coordinate staffing and hiring actions to the Pastor.
• Maintain documentation of maintenance activities and staff responsibilities.
• Oversee campus buildings and grounds maintenance.
• Manage major repairs and construction projects with leadership.
• Review bids per diocesan purchasing guidelines.
• Negotiate service contracts and vendor agreements.
• Maintain warranty, service, inspections, and preventive maintenance records.
• Ensure contractor safety standards compliance.
• Maintain liability insurance and workers' comp certificates for vendors.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies.
