Job summary

St.-Theresa-Catholic-Church in Austin, Texas seeks a Communications Coordinator to manage parish messaging across bulletin, email, website, and social media, and to lead video, podcast, and media projects.

You will modernize communications, align parish and school messaging, maintain a yearly content calendar, and collaborate with staff, clergy, and volunteers while respecting privacy guidelines. Occasional evening coverage may be required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
Experience managing social media accounts for an organization.
Experience producing and editing video and audio content.
Understanding of media strategy and audience growth.
Strong writing and editing skills with commitment to parish standard of excellence.

Responsibilities

Coordinate messaging across the bulletin, email, website, and other parish channels; work with staff and ministry leaders for accurate, timely communications.
Plan, create, and schedule content for parish social media accounts; monitor engagement and respond to comments.
Plan, capture, edit, and publish video and photo content, including event coverage; maintain a media library.
Produce and publish podcasts, including recording, editing, and distribution.
Modernize communications by evaluating tools and practices; advise leadership on media strategy and reach.
Maintain a content calendar aligned with liturgical year, school calendar, and major parish events.
