Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group is seeking a Parent Partner in Lancaster, CA to mentor parents and caregivers using lived experience. You will support families through Wraparound planning, assist in team meetings, and help elevate the voice of parents in every phase.

Full-time, Monday–Friday, 40 hours, on-site position in Lancaster. The role emphasizes empathy, guidance and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, with benefits including paid CEUs, professional growth, and supervisor support

Qualifications

• Lived experience as parent or caregiver of a youth who received services.
• Education requirement: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Driver's license required and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Mentor parents and caregivers, offering guidance, empathy and hope.
• Navigate complex systems and prepare for team meetings.
• Participate in Wraparound team meetings and Child and Family Team meetings.

As a Wraparound team member, the Parent Partner builds trusting, peer-to-peer relationships with parents and caregivers, helping them navigate complex systems, prepare for team meetings, strengthen family bonds, and find sustainable support. Through weekly meetings and by participating in Wraparound team meetings and Child and Family Team meetings, the Parent Partner helps parents/caregivers build confidence, reframe challenges, and actively engage in each Wraparound phase. Their role is vital in ensuring that the parent/caregiver’s voice, values, and priorities are elevated across the four phases of Wraparound. The Parent Partner focuses on providing the parent/caregiver emotional support through shared experiences. The Parent Partner uses lived experience as a parent who has navigated child-serving systems such as child welfare, probation, behavioral or mental health, or special education to forge meaningful connections with parents and caregivers. Parent Partners are compassionate allies who provide validation, guidance, encouragement and support to parents and caregivers throughout the Wraparound process.
