Job summary

The Office for Students with Disabilities at Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Parent Involvement Specialist to strengthen relationships between families, schools, and educators for students with disabilities.

Reporting to the Manager, Academic Access, this full-time exempt role focuses on training parents, coordinating advisory committees, and improving family engagement through workshops, partnerships, and data-driven strategies.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum two years' experience supporting parents of students with disabilities.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support training for parents and educators of students with students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with an advisory committee of parents, staff, and advocacy agencies to advise program improvements.
• Attend local advisory boards to communicate with parents at the local level.
• Develop needs assessments to guide family involvement efforts.
• Collect and analyze parent involvement data to track outcomes.
• Develop partnerships with advocacy groups to support families.
