Job summary

DHL eCommerce is seeking an Operations Supervisor to manage the manual handling and sorting of mail and small parcels in the Distribution Center. You will oversee staff, scheduling, performance reviews, and safety compliance to ensure efficient and accurate fulfillment.

The role requires strong leadership and analytical abilities, with a focus on quality, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED with 2 years of external supervisory experience or 1 year of DHL eCommerce Operations Trainer/Quality experience
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field preferred
• Understanding of Small Parcel Logistics and related regulations
• Experience implementing process improvement tools such as 5S
• Demonstrated success supervising and driving improved production standards

Responsibilities

• Assign work, set completion dates, review performance and manage in accordance with policies.
• Supervise mail/parcel processing, quality, and transportation to optimize quality and profitability.
• Establish teamwork, empowerment, fairness and consistency across shifts.
• Ensure staffing levels per department and shift; manage attendance/time.
• Conduct performance reviews and coach direct employees.
• Monitor equipment and ensure production standards are met.
• Support distribution center business plan with timely and accurate fulfillment and cost control.
• Review KPI and quality reports; take action when targets are not met.
• Recommend measures to improve methods, conditions and efficiencies.
• Oversee safety activities and training; ensure compliance with safety policy.
• Support HR in recruitment and interviews.
• Liaise with on-site postal clerks; monitor postal rate/regulatory changes.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
