Job summary

ROCS Transit in Box Elder, SD is seeking a Transit Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation for residents in the local service area. The role operates Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm, using paratransit vans, mini-vans and buses.

Responsibilities include transporting passengers on scheduled routes, performing basic vehicle maintenance, assisting passengers entering/exiting, maintaining records, and complying with traffic regulations.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
• Must have a good driving record and be able to assist passengers.
• Good customer service and communication skills are required.
• All applicants will be subject to a criminal background fingerprint check.

Responsibilities

• Transport passengers over routes according to time schedule.
• Perform and record manufacturer-recommended maintenance/repairs of vehicle.
• Assist passengers in entering and exiting vehicle.
• Assist frail and disabled persons to door and help with packages when needed.
• Inform supervisor of progress and problem areas.
• Maintain required records and reporting.
• Comply with traffic regulations.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections.
• Keep vehicle clean and orderly.
• Maintain confidentiality where appropriate.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
