Job summary

Marklund Day School in Geneva, IL seeks a Paraprofessional/Teacher's Assistant for Life Skills. Hours are 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday–Friday. The role supports teachers and works with students with disabilities, providing direct care and classroom assistance.

Compensation ranges from $20.00 to $23.50 per hour based on experience, with benefits for full-time staff. A Paraprofessional Educator license is required or obtainable after hire, with growth opportunities within the school program.

Qualifications

• Illinois Paraprofessional Educator license is required and can be obtained after hire.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with classwork and daily care of students with special needs.
• Provide direct care and attend in-services and educational functions as required.
• Maintain clean classroom equipment and ensure a safe physical environment for all students.
• Document goals and daily participation records after task completion.
• Work with students one-on-one and in groups per IEPs.
• Must pass PCM training.

We are seeking exceptional Teacher's Assistants, TA,Paraprofessionals for our year-round dayschoollocated in Geneva, IL. Hours are 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday-Friday.

Our hourly rate for Life Skills is $20.00 with no experience, $21.00with 2 years of Paraprofessional experience and up to $22.50 with 5years or more of Paraprofessional experience.

With a Bachelor's Degree our hourly rate for Life Skills is $21.00with no experience, $22.00 with 2 years of Paraprofessional experienceand up to $23.50 with 5 years or more of Paraprofessional experience.

About our school:

Marklund Day School is a non-public state-certified school thatpartners with area school districts to provide a highly specializededucation experience. The therapeutic, sensory-driven Multi-NeedsProgram serves individuals ages 3 through 21 with medical,developmental, and physical disabilities. Through the Life SkillsProgram, teachers and paraprofessionals provide individualizedfunctional curriculum and supports for students who are diagnosed onthe Autism Spectrum, specific learning disabilities, and developmental disabilities.

Summary of Duties:

• Assist teachers with classwork and the daily care of students withspecial needs
• Provide direct care, attend In-services and other educationalfunctions as required.
• Keeps equipment in classroom in clean condition and provides safephysical environment for all students.
• Documents all goals/program which includes the daily participationrecords after completion of a task with a student
• Works directly with the students one-on-one and in groups outlinedin the IEP’s
• Must successfully pass PCM (behavior management) training.

Experience and Skills

Qualifications:

• Illinois Paraprofessional Educator license is required. It can beobtained after being hired within 30 days, and we will offer a $500bonus for getting it. To obtain license candidates must have atleast a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and tomeet its functional and environmental requirements
