Job summary

Princeton Independent School District is seeking a Classroom Instructional Aide to support teaching staff by providing instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher.

You will help prepare instructional materials, monitor student progress, and support classroom management, ensuring a safe and welcoming learning environment throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Associate’s degree or two years of college coursework.
• Ability to assist in reading, writing, and math.

Responsibilities

• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Cover classes for teacher absences when substitutes are not available.
• Help supervise students throughout the school day, including lunchroom, bus, and playground.
• Notify the teacher of special needs or problems of individual students.

Primary Purpose

Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher. Assist in preparing, conducting, and managing of classroom activities.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
• Have met formal academic assessment, associate’s degree, or two years of study at an institution of higher learning*

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
• Ability to work well with children
• Ability to communicate effectively

Major Responsibilities And Duties

Instructional Support

• Provide instruction to students under the direction of teacher; work with individual students or small groups.

• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
