Job summary

Supplemental Health Care, Inc. is hiring paraprofessionals to join our school-based team and support students with special needs alongside teachers. You will help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally in inclusive classrooms.

Responsibilities include one-on-one and small-group support, helping implement behavior plans and IEP goals, and assisting with mobility and daily routines. Prior experience with special needs and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and ParaPro exam pass or higher education.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children.
• Experience with children with special needs, disabilities, or behavior management.
• Proficient with standard computer applications.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with staff and teachers.
• Support students one-on-one or in small groups with classwork and daily routines.
• Assist with behavior plans and IEP goals with consistency.

Qualifications:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent AND either a Passing Score on the ETS ParaPro Exam OR an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or at least two years of study (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours) at an accredited college.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children
• Prior experience working with children with special needs, physical/mental disabilities, or behavior management
• Proficient in the use of standard computer applications
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
• The ability to work collaboratively with existing staff
• Supporting students one‑on‑one or in small groups with classwork, communication, and daily routines
• Helping implement behavior plans and IEP goals with care and consistency
• Assisting students with special needs who may require help with mobility, personal care, or emotional regulation
• Creating a positive learning environment where all students can thrive
• Teaming up with teachers, therapists, and staff to make school a great place to be
