Job summary

Supplemental Health Care, Inc. is seeking Paraprofessionals to support teachers and students with special needs in partnering school districts. You will help students academically, socially, and emotionally in inclusive classrooms.

The role emphasizes one-on-one or small-group support, collaboration with staff, and assisting with behavior plans and IEP goals to help students feel seen and capable.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent and ParaPro exam score or associate degree.
• Minimum 1 year experience working with children.
• Must hold active GAPSC Certification.
• Prior experience with special needs, disabilities, or behavior management.
• Proficient in standard computer applications.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff.
• Support students one-on-one or in small groups with classwork, communication, and routines.
• Help implement behavior plans and IEP goals with care and consistency.
• Assist students with mobility, personal care, or emotional regulation.
• Create a positive learning environment; team with teachers and therapists.
• Willingness to assist with physical or behavioral needs as required.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent AND either a Passing Score on the ETS ParaPro Exam OR an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or at least two years of study (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours) at an accredited college.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children
• Must hold active GAPSC Certification
• Prior experience working with children with special needs, physical/mental disabilities, or behavior management
• Proficient in the use of standard computer applications
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
• The ability to work collaboratively with existing staff
• Supporting students one-on-one or in small groups with classwork, communication, and daily routines
• Helping implement behavior plans and IEP goals with care and consistency
• Assisting students with special needs who may require help with mobility, personal care, or emotional regulation
