The Champaign-Ford Regional Office of Education #9 invites applications for a Paraprofessional at Middletown Prairie Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. You will support certified staff, assist with instructional activities, and help care for students during school hours.

Qualifications include an Illinois ELS Paraprofessional Educator Endorsement or eligibility to obtain one, experience with elementary children preferred, and strong communication and teamwork skills.

Description: Middletown Prairie Elementary is accepting applications for a Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with certified staff to provide instructional, behavioral, and personal support that helps students achieve academic and social success.

Responsibilities:

• Support classroom instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce academic skills.
• Assist with implementing student accommodations and behavior support plans.
• Help supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other assigned times.
• Assist with preparing instructional materials and maintaining an organized classroom environment.
• Support students' social-emotional development while fostering positive relationships.

Qualifications:

• Must have an Illinois ELS Paraprofessional Educator Endorsement or the Short-Term Approval for the Paraprofessional or the ability to obtain one of these license options prior to employment.
• Experience working with elementary-aged children is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to assist students with academic, behavioral, and personal care needs as assigned.
• Must be able to pass a physical abilities test prior to starting employment.

NOTE: Our existing 4-year collective bargaining agreement expired at the end of the 2025-2026 school year and we are currently finalizing the new agreement that will begin with the 2026-2027 school year.
