Job summary

The Champaign-Ford Regional Office of Education #9 invites applications for a Paraprofessional at Middletown Prairie Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. You will support certified staff, assist with instructional activities, and help care for students during school hours.

Qualifications

• Illinois ELS Paraprofessional Endorsement is required or eligible to obtain one before employment.
• Experience working with elementary-aged children is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work as part of a team.
• Must pass a physical abilities test before starting.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce academic skills.
• Assist with implementing student accommodations and behavior support plans.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other times.
• Prepare instructional materials and maintain an organized classroom environment.
• Support students' social-emotional development and positive relationships.
