Job summary

UCP of Central Florida seeks a paraprofessional to support a K-12 classroom, including students with and without disabilities. You will implement plans, assist with materials, and help monitor progress with data collection.

You may lead the class in a teacher’s absence and uphold behavior techniques in a supportive learning environment. The role emphasizes collaboration with staff and families, ongoing professional development, and adherence to educational standards within UCP’s comprehensive

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or equivalent education credits required.
• Minimum ETS Parapro score of 464 or higher.
• Experience in a K-12 classroom preferred.
• Familiarity with instructional technology is advantageous.
• Ability to implement teacher plans and progress monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Provides instructional support in a K-12 classroom under teacher direction.
• Implements lesson plans and assists in materials setup.
• Administers assessments and monitors progress with data collection.
• Document academic progress through observations and records.
• Maintain classroom management and positive staff/parent interactions.

UCP of Central Florida unlocks the potential of thousands of children each year at our campuses, pediatric therapy clinics and parent support programs.Job Summary:The paraprofessional provides instructional support in a K-12th grade classroom of students with and without disabilities. The paraprofessional also leads the classroom in the event of a teacher absence.Job Responsibilities:Implements lessons plan including instructional groups per teacher’s direction.Assists in planning and developing/setting up instructional materials for classroom.Assist in administering assessments/progress monitoring.Works with the teacher in documenting academic progress through authentic observations and data collection.Utilize and ensure consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom management techniques and data collection.Perform teacher duties in his/her absence.Keep up on best and promising practices for education (i.e., attending professional development, participating in book studies, etc.)Provide caretaking/housekeeping duties as needed (i.e., changing of students, keeping classroom clean)Maintain positive staff and parent interactions and communication.Attend required trainings, meetings and events.Ensure administration is informed of all parent and individual student concerns and complaints.Ensure compliance with procedures, requirements and guidelines set forth by UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other State and Federal agencies.Perform other duties as assigned.What UCP OffersOur mission at UCP is to empower children with and without disabilities to achieve their potential by providing individualized support, education and therapy services in an inclusive environment.
