Job summary

UCP of Central Florida seeks a paraprofessional to provide instructional support in a K-12 classroom for students with and without disabilities. You will assist with lesson plans, materials, progress monitoring, and data collection while maintaining classroom management and behavior techniques.

The role offers ongoing professional development, opportunities to work across multiple campuses, and a collaborative team environment focused on inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent, or minimum of 6 Education credits; Parapro score 464+ on ETS test.
• Experience in a K-12 classroom with students with and without disabilities preferred.
• Experience with instructional technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements lesson plans and leads instructional groups per teacher’s direction.
• Assists in planning and setting up instructional materials for the classroom.
• Administers assessments and progress monitoring.
• Documents academic progress through observations and data collection.
• Utilizes behavior techniques and classroom management strategies with data collection.
• Performs teacher duties in their absence.
• Maintains positive staff and parent communications and attends required trainings.

The paraprofessional also leads the classroom in the event of a teacher absence.Job Responsibilities:Implements lessons plan including instructional groups per teacher’s direction.Assists in planning and developing/setting up instructional materials for classroom.Assist in administering assessments/progress monitoring.Works with the teacher in documenting academic progress through authentic observations and data collection.Utilize and ensure consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom management techniques and data collection.Perform teacher duties in his/her absence.Keep up on best and promising practices for education (i.e., attending professional development, participating in book studies, etc.)Provide caretaking/housekeeping duties as needed (i.e., changing of students, keeping classroom clean)Maintain positive staff and parent interactions and communication.Attend required trainings, meetings and events.Ensure administration is informed of all parent and individual student concerns and complaints.Ensure compliance with procedures, requirements and guidelines set forth by UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other State and Federal agencies.Perform other duties as assigned.What UCP OffersOur mission at UCP is to empower children with and without disabilities to achieve their potential by providing individualized support, education and therapy services in an inclusive environment.
