E. Ethel Little Elementary School in North Reading, Massachusetts is seeking a long-term substitute General Paraprofessional for the 2026 fall term, tentatively from September 8, 2026 through November 20, 2026.

This 0.8 FTE role supports students and teachers across grades Pre-K–5. Responsibilities include assisting with instructional activities, behavior support, materials prep, and school-wide supervision.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and problem solve independently.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least two years of relevant experience preferred.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teachers in creating an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Provide assistance to students in instructional activities.
• Implement physical assistance to students as required.
• Facilitate establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior.
• Support teacher with preparation of instructional materials.
• Collaborate on school-based supervision of arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, bus duty, and/or classrooms.
• Cover general office duties as needed.
• Provide assistance to the principal and staff in the daily management of the school.
• Substitute at all grade levels as requested.
• Assume other duties/responsibilities as designated by the Principal, Teacher, and/or Designee.

The E. Ethel Little Elementary School is seeking a long-term substituteGeneral Paraprofessional tentatively from September 8, 2026 through November 20, 2026. North Reading Public Schoolsis actively looking to build a diverse workforce to ensure all students feel welcome, safe, and valued for who they are and supported to reach their potential.

This position is five (5) days per week (Monday through Friday) and 28.0 hours per week (0.8 FTE).

Essential Duties

• Assist the classroom teachers in creating an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
• Provide assistance to students in instructional activities
• Implementphysical assistance to students as required
• Facilitateestablishing and maintaining standards of student behavior
• Supportteacher with preparation of instructional materials
• Collaborate onschool-based supervision of arrival, dismissal, lunch (Pre-K - Gr. 5), recess, bus duty, and /or classrooms
• Cover general office duties as needed
