Job summary

Crandell's Enterprises Inc (CEI) is seeking a Paraprofessional (CNA, LP, AP) to support mental health residents in Pitt, Durham, and Wake counties, providing direct and indirect patient care and helping with care plans and medications.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, reliable transportation, and experience in health care; nursing assistant license is a plus. CEI offers comprehensive benefits and a welcoming, inclusive team environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, minimum education.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Six months of experience in a health care environment; at least one year of direct patient care in an inhome setting.
  • LP, CNA, Caregiver, Patient Care Assistant (PCA), Paraprofessional, or Home Health Aide (HHA) experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to react professionally, decisively, and quickly based on protocol in emergency situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, residents, guardians, medical professionals, and staff.
  • Nursing Assistant license a plus but not required.
  • Ability to communicate and document written interventions with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist mental health patient(s) with management of resident's care plan, scheduling of services, and medication.
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care services including personal care, meal prep, basic hygiene, lifting, dietary support, and other personal needs and medical necessities in a group home centered environment.
  • Complete patient specific Paraprofessional documentation in the patient's record related to daily care, medications, behavior, crisis incidents, communication with others, and more.
  • Report on potential compliance problems as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Model ethical and appropriate behavior, professional standards, compliance, and personal integrity.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Clearly and concisely communicate the needs of residents and family, changes in residents' clinical condition, shift notes, and other issues.

The Paraprofessional provides direct or general care to mental health patients from admission through discharge under the direction of a supervisory Qualified Professional (QP) and within the parameters of the state licensing board.
