Academies of Math and Science is seeking a Paraprofessional (Teacher's Assistant) in Tolleson, AZ to support teachers and provide individualized and small-group student assistance. The role emphasizes classroom management, a positive learning environment, and collaboration with staff to meet diverse student needs.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or higher, experience with children, and may be bilingual in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and successful completion of paraprofessional exam, OR an Associate's degree (or higher).
• Previous experience working with children in an educational or youth-focused setting.

Responsibilities

• Support lead teachers in delivering instruction by assisting with lesson activities, classroom management, and transitions.
• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to reinforce skills and support individualized learning plans.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, orderly, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and engagement.
• Substitute for lead teachers as needed to ensure learning continues uninterrupted.
• Prepare instructional materials, set up classroom resources, and assist with grading or documentation as directed.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet students' academic and social-emotional needs.
• Model professionalism, respect, and high expectations in every interaction with students, staff, and families.
