Salary Range/Level: $17.32 - $23.04 (2025-26 Hourly Pay Range, commensurate with experience)

Work Location: Beekman Center - Lansing, MI

Schedule: 41 Weeks/year, 5 days/week 6.75 hours/day

Reports To: Jessica Rodgers

About The Role

Assists teachers in district classrooms for the cognitively impaired and/or physically impaired by performing a variety of duties designed to carry out individual student education programs and positive behavioral support.

  • Assists in daily classroom routines and facilitates students’ participation in all activities including but not limited to: self-care, mobility, ambulation, defined health procedures, and swimming.
  • Implements classroom and/or individual student behavior intervention strategies under the direction of classroom teachers.
  • May operate various lifts, instructional or adaptive equipment and assistive technology devices.
About You
  • High school graduate or GED recipient.
  • Prefer 2 years successful experience as a paraprofessional in a program for youth with physical and/or cognitive impairments or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrates continuous learning as it relates to instructional, behavioral and therapeutic interventions for assigned students.
