Job description

Overview

Paraprofessional – Academic Success – Writing and Communication (part-time) provides tutoring for students, mentors new tutors, assists with workshops and training, and conducts outreach. Location options include Sanford/Lake Mary or Oviedo, with assignments varying by need.

Responsibilities
  • Provides individual and small group tutoring for students.
  • Mentors new tutors.
  • Assists with development and delivery of workshops and training.
  • Conducts information sessions to promote the services of the Academic Success/STAR Center.
  • Maintains the professional operations of the Academic Success/STAR Center.
  • Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.

  • Provides individual and small group tutoring for students.
  • Mentors new tutors.
  • Assists with development and delivery of workshops and training.
  • Conducts information sessions to promote the services of the Academic Success/STAR Center.
  • Helps maintain the professional operations of the Academic Success/STAR Center.

Required Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.

Work Environment And Special Considerations

  • Hours will vary (days, evenings, and weekends), up to twenty-six hours per week during fall and spring semesters. Summer assignments may be less than twenty hours per week based on need.

Pay, Benefits And Work Schedule

Pay: $15.58 hourly up to 26 hours per week.

Employment type: Temporary part-time pool position. Submissions remain active for one academic year and may be reviewed as openings become available.
