Job summary

Madison-Champaign Educational Service Center in Illinois is seeking a Paraprofessional 1:1 and Building Float to support a designated student throughout the school day. You will work under the direction of teachers to help the student access the curriculum, meet IEP goals, and participate fully in class activities.

This role involves early half-day 1:1 support, collaboration with teachers and families, supervision during transitions and meals, and maintaining privacy and dignity while assisting

Responsibilities

• 1:1 para needed to work with a student half day and assist the building with related duties the second half.
• Provide one-on-one academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to an assigned student.
• Assist in implementing the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP), behavior intervention plan, and other educational supports.
• Reinforce instruction and learning activities as directed by the classroom teacher and intervention team.
• Support the student's communication, organization, self-regulation, and daily routines.
• Assist with personal care and mobility needs, when required, while maintaining the student's dignity and privacy.
• Monitor student progress and document observations, behaviors, and interventions as required.
• Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Supervise the assigned student during classroom instruction, transitions, lunch, recess, transportation, and other school activities as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all district policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.

A 1:1 Paraprofessional provides individualized instructional, behavioral, and personal support to a designated student throughout the school day.
