Job summary

The University of the District of Columbia seeks a part-time, temporary instructor to teach courses at 4200 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008 and participate in course development.

The incumbent will prepare and deliver curriculum using lectures, labs, discussions, and simulations; post materials on the LMS; and manage enrollment and grades. Strong teaching potential and paramedic certification are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Certified Paramedic with NREMT certification.
• Teaching experience or evidence of teaching potential.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses as scheduled and hold office hours for conferences.
• Evaluate and select texts and prepare course materials and lesson plans.
• Provide syllabus with objectives and outcomes aligned to program goals.
• Use LMS to post syllabus, assignments, and communicate with students.
• Deliver content using diverse teaching methods and engaging assignments.
• Maintain enrollment and attendance records, submit grades on time.
• Create a learning environment conducive to student success.
