Job summary

Phoenix College, part of the Maricopa County Community College District, seeks a full-time Paramedicine Faculty member to teach courses and serve as Program Director. Duties include coordinating EMS/paramedicine curricula, updating content, and ensuring compliance with CoAEMSP/CAAHEP standards.

The role requires current NREMT, Arizona Paramedic, BLS/ACLS/PALS with instructor credentials, and completion of a 24-hour teaching-methodology course. Begin Spring 2027.

Qualifications

• Five years of occupational experience in the field to be taught.
• Three years of occupational experience in the field to be taught and a Bachelor's degree or higher.
• A Master's degree or higher in the teaching field.
• Current NREMT certification.
• Arizona Paramedic certification.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications with instructor credentials.
• Completion of the state-required 24-hour course in teaching methodology.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in Paramedicine courses in traditional, online, and other instructional settings.
• Use instructional technology and alternative formats as appropriate.
• Develop syllabi, instructional materials, and curriculum to support student engagement.
• Participate in course/program assessment and improve teaching practices.
• Provide academic support and maintain office hours; respond to student inquiries.
• Coordinate schedules, monitor program budgets, and manage resources for program operations.
• Collaborate with faculty and community partners to coordinate course instruction and activities.
• Maintain knowledge of current paramedicine practices through professional development.
• Contribute to college life through meetings, committees, and community engagement.
• Serve as Paramedicine Program Director under MCCCD policies.
