College of the Desert invites applications for a faculty position to contribute to classroom instruction and program development across multiple health sciences and emergency services disciplines. The instructor will plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs to support student growth and district missions.

Responsibilities include meeting classes, developing syllabi, advising students, and participating in professional development and governance activities.

Formación

• Minimum Qualifications: Any bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience.
• Professional experience must be directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment.
• Mandatory Licensure & Certification: California Paramedic license or required EMS certifications.
• 40-hour instructional methods certification through NAEMSE or CA State Fire Training Instructor 1.
• Teaching experience delivering instructional content, skills training, and remediation.

Responsabilidades

• Meet classes/laboratories/clinical settings as scheduled.
• Develop and implement instruction aligned with the official course outline.
• Develop and distribute a written syllabus for each course during the first week.
• Provide academic assistance and related services during office hours.
• Advise students on course content, degree requirements, and learning skills.
• Participate in Shared Governance and college committee work.
