Overview

Employment Status: Full time
Shift: Evening/Night (United States of America)
Location: 35 Medical Ct - Hardy

Responsibilities

• Administer life support care and transport patients in pre-hospital settings.
• Respond to medical emergencies in 911 settings, providing cardiac, trauma, and pediatric support.
• Assess patient response, adjust treatments, and deliver initial treatments at the emergency scene.
• Perform emergency procedures such as extrication, intubation, defibrillation, and initiate IV drugs.
• Operate under ACLS protocol and provide invasive and non-invasive treatment for life‑threatening conditions.
• Observe, record, and report patient condition and treatment outcomes to physicians or command center leaders.
• Maintain current knowledge of treatment techniques, protocol updates, and new medication applications.
• Prepare required reports, maintain activity records, and obtain patient information for insurance billing.
• Co‑ordinate with external entities as needed, manage supplies, and report equipment malfunctions.
• Transport patients to hospital and non‑hospital sites safely.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• No prior experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.
• Certified in Virginia as a Paramedic.
• Current AHA BLS – HCP, ACLS, PALS, HazMat Awareness, NRP, and PHTLS or BTLS required within one year of hire.
• Maintain advanced transport medical knowledge, continuing education hours, and state/national recertification standards.
• Maintain an excellent driving record and meet eligibility requirements for emergency vehicle operation.
• Excellent communication, writing, and basic computer skills.
