Overview

Superior Ambulance Service, established in 1959, is the largest independent, locally owned, and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. With over 2,500 licensed EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses, and a fleet of more than 500 ambulances across Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin, we also provide Critical Care, helicopter, and fixed wing emergency medical transportation.

EMTs and Paramedics provide safe transportation and quality medical care within the scope of state EMS regulations, ensuring high-quality emergency and scheduled medical transports.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate patient care as stipulated in training as a Paramedic.
• Ensure safe transportation, including accurate map reading, discerning street names, house numbers, and business addresses efficiently.
• Assess patients properly and communicate conditions effectively to medical professionals.
• Prepare accurate written reports on patient condition, medical history, and treatments provided.
• Document billing information accurately.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and monitor all fluid levels and gauges.

Qualifications

• NREMT certification or current state license (or pending).
• Ability to provide medical care at EMT or Paramedic level during transport.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record, capable of operating vehicles in various conditions.
• Pass pre-employment physical, lifting exam, drug screen, and background check.
• Attend company-provided training and driving courses.

Salary Range

USD $31.00 - USD $29.37 per hour, based on experience and full-time schedule.
