Job summary

Nash UNC Health Care is seeking an EMT-P to provide safe, timely ground transport with basic and advanced life support. The role requires adaptability, strong driving and customer service skills, and comfort with out-of-hospital care. You may perform duties under RN supervision in the ED during transport downtime.

Position is full-time, on-site, daytime schedule (36 hours/week). Active NC EMT-P certification and current BCLS/ACLS are required, with ongoing recertification as mandated.

Qualifications

• EMT-P certification current with NC Office of EMS.
• Two years experience as an EMT-P in a pre-hospital or transport setting.
• BCLS/ACLS/ CPI / NIHSS certifications as required and kept current.

Responsibilities

• Monitors patient condition during ground transport and provides stabilization.
• Performs interventions per UNC Nash protocols and NC EMS guidance.
• Communicates with dispatch, staff, and families; documents status and plan.
• Delivers emergency care (CPR, oxygen, bandaging, splinting) as needed.
• Operates medical equipment; restocks supplies and follows ED transport protocols.
• Works under RN supervision in ED/transports settings as required.
