Job summary

Holland America-Princess (Holland America Dawson City Inn) seeks an experienced paramedic to provide BLS and ALS in out-of-hospital settings. You will follow Borough policies and demonstrate accountability, customer focus, dedication, integrity, responsiveness and teamwork.

Required are Alaska paramedic licensure or NRP, five years of direct patient care, and ICS course completion. Expect a rigorous screening, driving duties, and collaboration with hospitals and safety personnel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited paramedic training program.
• Five years of direct patient care experience in prehospital or clinical settings.
• Current Alaska Paramedic license or National Registry Paramedic License.
• Able to pass background check, drug screen and medical tests (PAT, respirator fit).
• ICS IS-100/IS-700 within 90 days; IS-200/IS-800 within one year.

Job Summary

This position provides Basic Life Support care and Advanced Life Support care for patients in out-of-hospital environments.

Work is performed and duties are carried out in accordance with established policies, procedures, and Borough core values: Accountability, Customer Focus, Dedication, Integrity, Responsiveness and Teamwork.

Pay Grade

P1 - P5 - DOE

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma, or equivalent; and completion of an accredited paramedic training program.

Five (5) years of direct patient care experience in a prehospital or clinical setting, sufficient to understand the major duties of the position.

Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Alaska for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Must be at least 19 years of age with one (1) year of driving experience.

Possession of State of Alaska Paramedic license or National Registry Paramedic License is required at time of hire.

Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, physical, respirator fit test and physical ability test (PAT) in addition to an annual respirator fit test and PAT test. Must complete a baseline audiometry screening and will be required to undergo annual testing as part of the Hearing Conservation Program. Must complete the Hepatitis B vaccination series and maintain a current Tetanus (Td or Tdap) vaccination, or provide signed declinations, in accordance with applicable health and safety guidelines. Must complete Tuberculosis (TB) screening, or provide signed declination, in accordance with applicable health and safety guidelines.

Completion of Incident Command System (ICS) courses, IC S 100 and IS 700 within ninety (90) days of hire and IC S 200 and IS 800 within one (1) year of hire.

Relevant experience and skills may include but are not limited to
