The Paramedic will work under the Operational Medical Director, utilizing crisis skills, prioritizing life-saving interventions, and following established protocols for EMS response and transport.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Virginia Paramedic or EMT-Intermediate certification required.
• ACLS, PALS and Healthcare Provider CPR required; EVOC and HazMat Awareness within first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assesses illness/injury and prioritizes medical care.
• Provides basic life support, IV access, fluid/medication administration and advanced airway care.
• Provides emergent, routine and nonemergent care and patient transportation by ambulance.
• Gathers and submits patient data for continued treatment.
• Completes documentation and communicates effectively with the team.
• Interacts with patients, families, and staff to resolve conflicts when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
